The most valuable kitchen tool you can own is a reliable stand mixer. I use a Kitchenaid. This countertop model is great for most small-batch or home cooking operations. If you have the proper attachments you can shred cheese, grind meat, or stuff sausages, mill grain, make rolled or pressed pasta or shaved ice. You can use it as an ice cream maker, as a food processor, or as a juicer and more. You can replace the mixer hardware or upgrade it and there are some variations for those as well.
Most importantly, a Kitchenaid can be serviced and repaired if it ever does have issues and they tend to hold a decent resale value.
